PLA is a semi-biodegradable "corn plastic" made from renewable resources and is the most popular 3D printing filament worldwide. It prints easily at lower temperatures with minimal warping and produces hard parts with a typically matte finish. PLA is ideal for prototyping and decorative items but has limited heat resistance (begins softening around 60°C @ 0.45 MPa).
